Lincolnshire Schools invited to apply for Transport Bursary

Lincolnshire secondary schools now have the opportunity to enhance learning beyond the classroom with support from the LiNCHigher Transport Bursary. This initiative offers schools a 50% reimbursement on travel costs for educational trips, aimed at students in Years 10 to 13. By easing budget constraints, this bursary enables schools to expand learning programs and provide enriching experiences for young people across the county.

To apply, schools are asked to provide the cost of the trip, after which a percentage will be reimbursed. Upon approval, a copy of the original invoice will be required for record-keeping.

Since 2017, LiNCHigher has worked with educational partners to promote equal access to opportunities, helping young people make informed decisions about their academic and career paths. As the Uni Connect representative for Lincolnshire, LiNCHigher empowers students from all backgrounds to explore broader educational horizons.

Schools across Lincolnshire that have benefitted from the bursary include Haven High Academy, Boston, who said, “Thanks to LiNCHigher’s Transport Bursary support, our Year 11 students had the chance to visit the University of Lincoln. This experience helped raise aspirations amongst out students, providing insight into university life, and showcased the many opportunities in Higher Education.”

Rebecca Crooks, LiNCHigher’s Schools & College Programme Manager said, “LiNCHigher are delighted to be able to offer the Transport Bursary to Lincolnshire schools. Our research shows that participating in visits and attending events 'off school campus' has a significant positive impact on student’s career planning.”
